Callie Foote misses the Puget Sound, but she found there is nothing quite like a thunderstorm or a sunset on the Palouse.
Callie, from Bellingham, WA, is a fan of the arts. Her favorite mediums are oil pastel and watercolor. She also loves to bake, with her specialties including banana bread and chocolate cream pie. Come May, Callie will be headed back to western Washington to serve as a small animal and exotics veterinarian.
She has a particular interest in animal behavior. And if you’re looking for a veterinarian with a fresh set of eyes to the field, she’s beginning interviews for her first gig. “I wanted to be a veterinarian growing up but I didn’t look into other fields during undergrad. I eventually found my way back to veterinary medicine. It’s the perfect way to work with animals while being able to serve the community in a meaningful way,” she said. Callie has two rescued pets: a 6-year-old terrier mix named Sophie and a 5-month-old kitten named Remy. She hopes to add a ball python to the group after graduation. Callie’s favorite dog breed is the pug! Her parents have two pugs and a pug mix. Growing up she also had cats, fish, a frog, a cockatiel, and a corn snake.
